An Oklahoma Native, born and raised in Tulsa. Since the age of 15, my desire has always been to help others. After graduating high school in 2006 I started my college career at the local community college, not truly knowing what field to study, I just knew I wanted to complete a degree. After a year, I decided to study psychology. I later moved to Lawton, Oklahoma where I continued my undergrad studies at Cameron University and began working at the Child Development Center with the Department of Defense. Once I graduated in 2013, I had a strong desire to branch out and learn a new territory. The opportunity came to transfer to Miami, Florida and continue my work with the Department of Defense. After a year of working with the Army Garrison in Doral, I decided to branch out and gain more experience in working with youth and their families. I gained an opportunity to work for Miami Dade Parks and Recreations Disability Services as a Program Specialist. During this time I was enrolled full time with Florida International University School of Social Work Graduate Program. My area of focus was Child Welfare. I completed two internships one with Department of Children and Families and the other with Baptist South Miami Hospital. Upon completion of my studies in 2017 I had begun working with Miami Bridge Youth and Family Services. Miami Bridge has since been a part of my heart in connecting with youth and families, and promoting positive change within the community. With the pleasure of previously holding multiple other roles within the agency, I am currently working with young people transitioning into early adulthood who are experiencing housing instabilities. This work has been rewarding to say the least.
