Judge Julie Harris Nelson

Judge Julie Harris Nelson serves as county court judge in the criminal division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit for the State of Florida. Before being appointed to the bench, Judge Harris Nelson was a partner in the Miami office of ROIG Lawyers and served as vice president of the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association and on the executive board of the Dade County Bar Association.

Since 2016, Judge Harris Nelson has served with distinction on the board of Miami Bridge Youth and Family Services Inc. She also serves as chapter president of the Miami Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. She is an active member with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Alpha Beta Omega Chapter and takes pride in promoting reading to pre-school and elementary school students around the country. Judge Harris Nelson received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from St. Thomas University’s School of Law.
