Become a Volunteer

Adults interested in ongoing volunteer service at Miami Bridge must be approved by the agency prior to participation. The application process to become an ongoing volunteer may take several weeks and includes the following steps:

  • Fill out the Volunteer application below
  • Local background check obtained at Miami-Dade Police Department ($5 cost)
  • Interview and reference checks
  • Volunteer training/orientation


If you are interested in volunteering more than 10 hours per month, there are additional requirements including a drug test, TB screening and complete background screening through the Department of Juvenile Justice. There is a cost of $100 for these items which is reimbursable after 50 hours of volunteer service.

Adult supervision (parent/guardian) is required for volunteers under 18 years old.
